Mechanism of action

"The active substance of Basta® — ammonium glufosinate — is a modification of a product of the metabolism of the soil fungus Streptomyces spp, existing in the nature. Its chemical structure is close to natural glutamine amino acid.

"The active substance of Basta® — ammonium glufosinate — is a modification of a product of the metabolism of the soil fungus Streptomyces spp, existing in the nature. Its chemical structure is close to natural glutamine amino acid.

Basta® blocks the enzyme of glutamine synthetase, resulting in increase of the content of ammonia in plant cells, which leads to cell death and photosynthesis stop"
