Mechanism of action

Florasulam is an inhibitor of acetolactate synthase enzyme, 2,4-D causes an auxin-type reaction. This double action of the herbicide reduces the risk of resistance in weeds.

Florasulam is an inhibitor of acetolactate synthase enzyme, 2,4-D causes an auxin-type reaction. This double action of the herbicide reduces the risk of resistance in weeds. The herbicide has systemic activity, quickly, within 1 hour penetrates through the leaves and spreads to all parts of weeds, including the roots, inhibits the growth of cells in young tissues.

 

Spectrum of action

Balerina® kills over 150 species of eudicot weeds (including resistant to 2,4-D and MCPA), including cleavers, chamomile (species), Canadian thistle, sow-thistle, corn bindweed, cornflower, wild mustard, blind weed, field pennycress, wild radish, lambsquarter goosefoot, cop-rose, amaranth (species), chickweed, knotweed (species), field bindweed, ragweed, Sofia tansy mustard, Tatar lettuce, dandelion, etc.
